The 2 Inch Epic Backup, "hand injection" core shot style mold was designed as part of a collaboration with Marling Baits.

The Epic Backup is a grub-bodied bait that has a long tube shaped tail with a "t-shaped" paddle at the end.  This bait has a subtle tail kick that transfers a natural wobble into the body of the bait. It's a great finesse bait that even finicky fish will key in on. This is a great bait to use as a "backup" bait 😉.

This mold comes with six "core rods" which allow you to core shot baits. With the rods installed and the mold closed, shoot the color you prefer for the outer part of the main grub body. When it cools, open the mold, and pull the baits off of the rods and the sprue, and place the bodies back into the mold ensuring the center of the body is open and not stuck together. Coating the rods in worm oil before this process makes the baits easier to remove from the rods. With all of the bodies placed back into the mold, close the mold and inject the tail color which will also fill the core of the grub area.

*You can also leave the rods out of the center and shoot solid color or laminate baits.

This mold can be used with a wide variety of plastisol but a soft blend of plastic will give the most action in the tail.
